Landslide hits popular resort town in Japan leaving more than a dozen people missing

A number of homes have been obliterated and others buried within the mudslide, which adopted days of heavy rain

An enormous landslide has swept away properties and left 19 other people lacking at a well-liked lodge the town in central Japan after days of heavy rain, native officers say.

Tv pictures on Saturday confirmed a torrent of dust obliterating some constructions and burying others in Atami, southwest of Tokyo, with other people operating away because it crashed over a hillside street.
