Poet Luke Wright pens tribute to World War One soldiers

A poet has paid tribute to those that fought in Global Battle One with a poem in regards to the build-up to leaving for fight.

Luke Wright, from Colchester, used to be requested to put in writing 5 items in regards to the lives of people and communities in Essex all over the Nice Battle – one for each and every 12 months of the war.

This one, known as The King’s Head, Harwich, is about in 1918, as younger males met to think about their departure.

Sunday marks the centenary of the top of Global Battle One, at 11:00 at the 11th day of the 11th month, in 1918.
