Say hello to the Tesla Model Y.

Tesla has unveiled the Tesla Model Y, the company’s first crossover SUV that will be available beginning in 2020.

Elon Musk debuted the Tesla Model Y and revealed that it will come in four different models – the Standard Range, Long Range, Dual Motor AWD, and Performance.

The models range from $39,000 for the Standard Range, which features a range of 230 miles and a 0-60 time of 5.9 seconds, to the Performance, which will cost $60,000, has a range of 280 miles, and a 0-60 time of only 3.5 seconds.

Safety is a top priority for Tesla, and Musk anticipates a 5-star rating across the board for the Tesla Model Y. It features a “low center of gravity, rigid body structure and large crumple zones provide unparalleled protection.”

As for the interior, the Model Y will offer up to seven seats with an optional third row, a 15-inch touchscreen, an expansive and panoramic Glass Roof, and more.

Range can be a concern with electric cars, and Tesla is doing all it can to ease that worry with its over 12,000 Superchargers worldwide and six new locations being added each week. The Model Y will be able to “recharge 168 miles in 15 minutes at Supercharger locations.”

The Tesla Model Y will also feature Auto Pilot with Full Self-Driving capability, which utilizes 360 degree cameras, Forward Facing radar and 12 Ultrasonic Sensors to “detect nearby cars, prevent potential collisions and assist with parking.”

Everything but the Standard Range, which is planned for a Spring 2021 release, will be available in Fall of 2020 and can be designed and ordered right now from Tesla’s website.
